With everything set up and the burgers cooking nicely we once more experienced this feeling of unease due to the shortage of people. Suddenly they all started to arrive and I gave a sigh of relief, a lot of our members had been at a show in the morning. This in turn changed the sequence of the events, I had planned to have four events before eating but we did not have the time. Nevermind, all’s well that ends well. . As usual everyone threw themselves into the games although I think there could have been more support from the onlookers. Will the toss the wellie record ever be beaten., what a throw by David. Come on lads and lassies, start practicing now for next year. Robert and Richard what can one say, battered by wet sponges all day. Watch out Richard I shall practice for next year and get you back for calling my little darling a chocolate Labrador. Brilliant the two of you for collecting £60 for D C M. It was great to see Bobby and his wife after his illness and hope to see them at many more of our Fun Days. I think one of the funniest sights for me was Master Laird with his Lion face sticking out of a sack being run down the arena, he reminded me of a baby kangaroo in his mother’s pouch. Thank you everyone who helped, who prepared food, cooked food, supplied food and who generally helped out. Jim you really looked the part in that apron, a straw boater would have finished the picture. A great thank you to Penny who does such a lot behind the scenes that gives the finishing touches to these events, also to Robert who supplied the stall. If anyone has any suggestion for next year, (ones that we can print) I shall be happy to hear from you.
