DOGS
Judge Mr James Baker

There are few better honours one can get than to be asked back home to judge the Scottish Dobermann Club Championship show. A bleak wet morning met me as I arrived in Larkhall, but as I entered the leisure centre and spotted the Saltire I felt very much among my “Ain Folk”.
I was warmly greeted by a very efficient committee, at a well organised show. Well so much for the nostalgia, lets deal with the dogs.

Class 1 Veteran (10 – 4 )
1. Ch McIlroy & Stacy’s Krieger Storm JW, an eight-year-old black and Tan dog who did all the basics with ease. In charge was a young handler who also showed a lot of promise, keep it up.
2. CH Feeney’s Sallate Schumacher JW Another eight-year-old black, tan dog which stood, showed and moved. I’ve often admired him from the side of the ring.
3. Newtrows Dark Samuri

Class 2 MPD (3 –1 )
1. Kelly’s Supetas Shadowstorm. 6 months, fairly well balanced, dropping nice at the front. Temperament steady, moved OK for one so young.
2. Nesbitts Heimdalls Lorenzo, 8 months black / tan very much at the gawky stage, needs time to come together, but handled very well.

Class 3 puppy dog (1)
1. Goldie’s Anatigo-Me-Figario, stood on his own, 10 months, black/tan, moved and showed fairly well, good luck.

Class 4 Junior Dog (10 –1 )
1. Keelers’, Tuwin Ready to Rumble. Pleasantly surprised by the progress of this young male, is developing into a balanced dog, good bone, feet and tan markings, and in the hands of a “top class” handler who really turned it on in the challenge. I did like the way she “threw down the gauntlet”
2. Pittenorigh’s Almeira Shadrak at Tomar JW, brown/tan dog of promise, looks to have a fair future. I did like his balance on the move, unlucky to meet 1. on the day, but his day will come.
3. Lourarini’s Mezarina Desperate Dan

Class 5 Yearling Dog (6)
1. Davie’s Kneght Falco, fills my eye as an “honest dog” fair head and neck, lovely substance and bone, moved very steady.
2. Louarinis’s Mezarini Desperate Dan, I like his type, good angulation and depth, his head hasn’t finished yet, and I would like him to tighten up on the move.
3. Richardson, Purroma Dark Impression at Jasprico JW Sbcm?

Class 6 Novice Dog (5)
1. Keeler’s Tuwin Ready to Rumble
2. Walker’s Diegos Caught in the Act, brown/ tan of 15months showed and moved very well, handler and dog in unison.
3. Caffels Doberway Chocktaw

Class 7 Graduate Dog (3-1)
1. Campbells Krieger Endurance, brown/ tan of good substance, very nice type, handled well. I liked his head and reach of neck and topline. Good drive in hindquarters.
2. Barrs Black and Tan Dog, 2ys old, plenty of bone and substance handler and dog need more time.

Class 8 Post Grad Dog (5)
1. McIlroy & Haggarty’s Krieger Entertainer JW . black and tan dog, just gone two years . Has all the essentials to go further. Lovely angulation, enough forehand, good bone.
2. Barlow & Elkins Ferrero Choclate Soldier JW , 2year old brown/ tan dog, who never put a foot wrong , lovely bone and substance , very well handled, slightly longer cast than 1.
3. Elliots Helmlak Dancing Wolf

Class 9 Limit Dog (17-3)
Smashing class with a real cutting edge to it.
1. Meridth’s Swnydwr Hellfire of Tarchan, all male dog, well up to size, lovely bone and presence, good head, neck slightly convex. flowing into the shoulders. I particularly liked him around the manubrium area, not over done. His handler kept him very steady on the move, good drive in hindquarters and the applause that greeted him, well there must have been no one left in Wales! RCC
2. Brassington’s Lodgehouse Mr Bojangles, nice type, clean cut, black and tan dog. Standing he looks a picture. Today was a little erratic on the move.
3. Cairn’s Lamarg Aramis

Class 10 Open Dog (11-2 )
1. Mycroft & Gelderd Ch Talacre Vysan’s Boy at Supeta JW, yes this boy is the best specimen of the breed I have had the pleasure of going over for some time. He is well balanced, is of good size and presence. Has style and oozes class. His gate is lithe and effortless as he drives around the ring, with a certain panache that borders on arrogance. CC and RBIS
2. Lewis’s Mavson The Luck of the Irish JW, black and tan of 3yrs, fair head, good muzzle, lovely bone, showed his socks off today.
3. Tapply’s Heldenburg Hargen JW
