Club Social Event - Fun DayOur Fun Day was held at a new venue Salterhill Farm, Slamannan on Sunday 11th May 2003. It rained all the previous week and as I made my way to Robert's that Sunday morning I was rather apprehensive about the weather but the Gods were fairly good to us. By around 1pm the stall and barbecue was established but there was an absence of bodies. I almost suggested we add a hamburger eating competition to the agenda to make use of the 100 or so hamburgers that were being cooked so efficiently by Bobbie and Richard Snr. To our relief we all of a sudden had a nice crowd who happily were willing to participate in all the events.

I must thank all the adults, children and dogs who "threw" themselves into the obstacle race, I have never laughed so much in all my life. Then the sack race: they lined up with the intensity of true Olympians and Richard, after a death like dive, won by a long tongue. (What can one say). It was well to see who had been practising "toss the Wellie" and we were lucky not to have a murder in the last obstacle race. Tut! Tut! Children, that hen must have had a real problem going by the way the eggs stayed on the spoons, thank you Richard Snr for restoring my faith in humanity by not cheating.
Thank you everyone who prepared the food, supplied the food, who cooked the food and who helped the day be a success......
